Under the guidance of Swamini Dakshini, we will journey through holy places and immerse ourselves in the mystery of devotional art. The path of devotional art offers a direct means of realising the Supreme Truth. Drawing the Sri Yantra or depicting the Lord in the form of one of His avatars allows us to concentrate on Him and brings forth yet another of His unique manifestations into the world. Just reflect on this, and devotional art will no longer seem ordinary to you. Express your service to God through art, allow Him to manifest, and let this become a beautiful stage in your relationship with the Divine.
Whether it be song, dance, theatre, or visual art, material aesthetics are secondary to the sincerity of devotion. This is the key to attaining a true spiritual experience through devotional art.
There is no right or wrong here. Simply give it a try! Start drawing and observe what unfolds within you, but do not strive for a specific outcome. Its form will reveal itself through your hands. Whenever Guruji has a little ‘free’ time, He takes great pleasure in painting and engaging in creative work.
‘I love painting because it helps to express towards the outside what you have inside of yourself.’ — Paramahamsa Vishwananda
