Mystical Saints and the Divine Mother
Paramahamsa Vishwananda will be heading to West Bengal as a very special guest in April. Follow the mystical saints and discover the ancient places of Divine Mother.
West Bengal is saturated with holy sites of saints steeped in Bhakti like Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and legendary temples like Dakshineswar Temple where Ramakrishna worshiped Kali Maa in the form of Bhavatarini.
In Western Bengal there is Tarapith Temple, one of the Mahapeethas and extremely holy place. It is believed that the eyeball of Sati fell down at Tarapith. Dedicated to Goddess Tara, a fearsome incarnation of the Divine Mother, this is the most important center for Tantrik worship in India.
We will have the opportunity to visit Ekachakra Village, the place where lord Nityananda was born, and the central point, situated within Navadvipa, is the Yogapitha, Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu’s birthplace. There is a neem tree in the courtyard at Yoga-Pitha that marks the exact spot where Chaitanya Mahaprabhu was born. There are also Deities of Mahaprabhu as a child along with His parents, Sachi-Devi and Jagannatha Misra.
